Over the past ten years, I have tried to create a parallel between the image of Princess Brianna Caradja, whose aristocratic family was driven out of Romania by politics, and of the capital city that is crumbling both physically and socially. With my journalistic background, I attempt to mirror the forgotten, ignored grandeur of both the physical and social institutions of my homeland.

In 2010 I left my own country and I’ve been forced to reinvent myself. Between 2016 - 2018, I have taken a series of pictures of the local CrossFit athletes from Conroe, Texas, as they heroically struggled to reinvent themselves as well. I found a common link with these teachers, housewives and small business owners. My idea was to capture these everyday athletes as I see them: iconic, powerful and fearless while overcoming their own limits and pushing their resistance to the extreme.
