Over the past ten years, I have tried to create a parallel between the image of Princess Brianna Caradja, whose aristocratic family was driven out of Romania by politics, and of the capital city that is crumbling both physically and socially. As the featured summer exhibition at The Houston Club in downtown Houston, The Spirit of Houston transformed the Club's galleries with a collection honoring the city selected to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Set against spectacular skyline views, the exhibition celebrated Houston's vibrant character through bold graphic compositions inspired by its neighborhoods, culture, and iconic landmarks. The exhibition remained on view through September, welcoming members and guests to discover a contemporary artistic tribute to the city.
Helix Park Medical Center | June 15 to July 30, 2026
The series continued at Helix Park in the Texas Medical Center, where The Spirit of Houston brought color and optimism to one of the world's leading healthcare and innovation campuses. The exhibition explored the city's diversity, architecture, and unmistakable spirit, offering patients, visitors, and professionals an uplifting visual experience that reflected Houston's creativity and global identity during the excitement of the 2026 World Cup.
Mercato & Co. | June 1 to June 30, 2026
The Spirit of Houston was presented throughout Mercato & Co., an elegant fine dining destination in Houston's West University neighborhood. Inspired by the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Houston's role as one of the host cities, the exhibition celebrated the city's culture, landmarks, and energy through a vibrant series of contemporary art posters. Displayed within the restaurant's refined interior, the collection invited guests to experience Houston through a fresh artistic perspective while enjoying one of the city's premier dining destinations.
